Koa Strat Build Pix

In 2007 I graduated from buying, repairing, tweaking and customizing guitars to my first guitar build.  The body, chambered mahogany with a koa top, and much of the hardware came from Warmoth. Supplies and sundries from Stewart-MacDonald, including a STEWMAC/Mighty Mite neck.  Fender vintage noiseless pickups. Total cost: about $850.  But as the Mastercard ad says, the experience was priceless.  I must say, it is also one sweet playing/sounding guitar.  And I'm not even really a strat guy!

I learned a ton, and building this guitar proved great therapy at a difficult time as well.  Here are a few pix:
